Florida Resort Exchange "BEWARE, Save your Money"

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The initial meeting was so convincing, my wife and I decided to purchase a membership. The cautious person I am, I did bargain down to a two year membership (one bonus week per year) for $400. (Better to experiment with little cash than the $10,000-$20,000 they were trying to get from us. Booked a hotel through Florida Resort Exchange "once", found I had paid more than $100 more than I could have, if booked it through other websites. Never used a bonus week. Could never find it to be less expensive than non-membership websites. Example: Florida Resort Exchange bonus week; Jamaica was $129 per person for a week ($258), Resort all-inclusive fee was $203 per person per night (7 nights) ($2842) (this took me 4 hrs, many phone calls and many placed on hold with no return, to get this info) + air fare (approx. $850)/ 2 people) Total: $3950 + tax. I could get the same resort, same days, including airfare and all-inclusive for two people @ $1141 per person ($2282). So how am I saving by going through Florida Resort Exchange when paying $1668 more. And I paid for the membership fee as well. BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!! "Save your hard earned Money"

Major Scam

We bought in November 2013. Since that time we have been unable to get a reservation. Were told to go to RTX which repeatedly did "searches" and came up empty. Carried the points over to 2015 and were told we must book within 150 days with carry over points. Now, we received an invite to "an owners luncheon" to be updated on latest offerings and improvements to the club. AS soon as we arrived at the hotel I knew it was a sales gimmick. They sat each individual couple alone at a table with a rep. He proceeded to tell us of all the wonderful features of this club. However, none of these features applied to our level of membership. He went on about how disappointed he was that we weren't given all the facts at the initial sale. Then he said it was too late for us to upgrade our membership because we didn't use the points in the first year. However, he "felt bad for us" and would see what could be done. Aha, the group leader came over and said that we still had time to make things right. Meanwhile, the rep repeatedly said "I'm not saying that you have a bad plan, I don't want to give you that impression" Then he would launch into basically saying we had a bad plan. Then the group leader returned and, it turns out they can make us an upgrade offer comparable to what we should have had originally!! For a mere $12K I could become a platinum member, double our annual points, and reserve my time 18 months in advance. We don't plan basic weekly vacations in the states that far out. I declined. The rep disappeared and when he reappeared, it's magic!, there was another offer. For $6K we could get the same offer of benefits, with 50% more points. then, to drive the point home he showed us a chart of availability for this year and it basically showed that almost all the properties were already full for 2015. However, we could get a personal advisor who can often "find" availability even when the regular reps say it is full. They told us we couldn't get availability because it was taken well in advance by platinum members. Basically, they are selling more contracts than they have facilities to accommodate!!!! The joke was that they told us that because we hadn't yet used any of our points, we shouldn't have been invited to this luncheon. I doubt that because there were only 12 couples at 12 tables. We were targeted. they also said this wasn't intended to be a sales pitch, but when I looked at the other tables, they were getting the same pitch. Lastly, the lunch was terrible!!! Dried turkey, a poor attempt at paella, some kind of mushy sweet potato thing and a lettuce salad.

Lied too.

First, when we joined in 2013, we tried to book a resort in Branson, the cost we were going to be charged was more than we would have to pay if we were not a member. We also had trouble booking a reservation anywhere. Second, in Oct. 2014, we got an invitation to a meeting for owners, that was suppose to help us and answer our questions. Actually all it was, was another sales meeting.. This guy Kris Waldecker, sold us a bill of goods, so we would update our membership, with a promise of a free week in Branson, which never happened. He did tell us our credits would roll over each year without us doing anything. Third, we were invited to a Three night stay in Branson which we paid $300.00 for , only to go to another owners meeting, where again they told us our problem was, that we just didn't have enough credits and we needed to upgrade again, which like dummies we did. this was also with a promise of a free week in Branson at a Pet friendly cabin at the cabins of Green Mt. This was because they said we had lost all of our credits because we didn't roll them over so they would do this for us. Guess what? The man who told us this, plus his sales Rep. Matt have lied to us again. I know we are very naieve and trusting, and we have invested 30,000,00 in this resort without one vacation to date. Something needs to be done before we seek legal advice. I wish someone there would help us, someone honest. Sincerely, Mary F. Milam, Contract #468600

Terrible company to work for. Constantly dealing with upset members because there is *** for inventory. Management treats you with disrespect as do the members. I do not recommend this company to my worst enemy.

Full of Lies... Promise one thing but when you get home and look it up its not the same

We went to Banner Elk. The presentation we were shown a RTX website they said would be exactly what we would see on our computer. Offering week stays at many condos starting at $50 a week going down as low as $14 the closer you got to the week. They also said we could stay in any Festival Resort for $199.00 a week. We have been calling them for two months now only to get different answers ever time we call. We sold them our time share and bought a $5000. discount program. Isn't there a law against telling lies to get the sale? I may take a trip to Orlando to make a scene.

I got scammed too. Total of $4295.

To sell my time share. Somehow I got suspicious so I cancel next day and asking money back. But it never happen. The manager name Sean Stacy.

Many email with the company finally find it is a postal mail box. Not responsible person found. My money totally gone .

I hate people lie. They should put this cone artist to the jail.

We are going through the exact same thing now. We were scammed in Branson MS.

They won't stop hearing from me until I get my money back. We were told $199.00 price for Festiva resorts and hotels as low as $7.00 a night the closer you book.

Have been unable to schedule a vacation and am now losing points

Called in October to schedule vacation. Nothing available. Rep told me to keep checking and if unable to get time to deposit points with RTX "anytime before end of year would be okay. Called again today, nothing available for time I need. Told October 15 was cut off date for depositing with RTX. Told rep this not what I was told in October. States "they were unsure of cutoff date " when I called in October. Asked rep how I was supposed to know cut off date if they didn't know. I can't use points and will lose but I can however pay an additional 330+ dollars to extend the points.
